Doctor Who Hiatus

Interesting news has come out from the BBC regarding Doctor Who. It would seem that after series 4 airs next year David Tennant will continue on as the Doctor in a christmas special then in several specials during 2009 with a 5th series due in 2010. So basically there will be no weekly series in 2009.

No reasons have been given for this new structure but the BBC have said that Russell T Davies will be involved up to and including the specials but have not confirmed nor denied his or Tennant’s involvement for the 5th series.

Maybe they want a break from filming for a bit so they can pursue other stuff for a while? It has already been announced that Tennant will be playing Hamlet for a while next year.

To be or not to be the Doctor: that is the question!
